ADHD Petition

We have had some great wins for the neurodivergent community in Australia with Ritalin Long Acting being placed on the PBS for those who have received a diagnosis of ADHD over the age of 18!

Thankyou to ADHD Australia who supported the change.org petition and to everyone who signed and share it! We got to 10,000 signatures and won’t stop until we get the other options onto the PBS so that people with an adult diagnosis of ADHD get equitable and affordable access to treatment.

Crappy to Happy Podcast

Cass Dunn chats with Monique Mitchelson, a clinical psychologist and host of The Neurodivergent Woman podcast, about neurodiversity in women, specifically autism and ADHD. Monique shares that neurodivergence is often under-diagnosed, especially in girls and that many women are doing life in 'hard mode' when they don't have an accurate diagnosis.

Monique shares some of the masking and compensatory strategies that neurodivergent individuals often use to navigate a neurotypical world.

The conversation explores the challenges in receiving a diagnosis and accessing appropriate support. It delves into the social model of disability and the importance of creating an inclusive and accessible society for neurodivergent individuals. The high prevalence of co-occurring mental health conditions and physical health issues is discussed, along with the need for appropriate support and understanding.
